Anushka Sharma look straight from the bygone era in Sui Dhaaga

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma are all set to come together on screen for the first time for their film Sui Dhaaga – Made In India. The movie is a YRF collaboration between Maneesh Sharma and Sharat Katariya (of Dum Laga Ke Haisha) and is based on a social initiative and inspired from Make in India initiative.

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma shared the first look of their next – Sui Dhaaga. The film marks Varun’s and Anushka’s first project together. In film’s first look, Varun is a young man Mauji. The mustache he sports belongs to the ’80s. Anushka plays Mamta – a simpleton, who dresses up in sarees, bangles, and vermilion in a style reminiscent of that era. Her character is a newly married girl. She’s seen happy and blushing.

Anushka also spoke about the film to a popular daily as she said, “I always get excited with unique ideas that have human interest stories. Sui Dhaaga is a story of self-reliance that I believe will connect to the grassroots level with every Indian. And I am really looking forward to working with Varun Dhawan and the team of Sharat Katariya and Maneesh Sharma.”

Sui Dhaaga – Made in India will hit the theatres on September 28, 2018, which marks the Gandhi Jayanti weekend, next year. We are totally looking forward to watch this one, you too?

Varun had shared his excitement. He said, “From Gandhiji to Modiji, our leaders have always endorsed the mantra of Made in India. With Sui Dhaaga, I am proud to take their message to millions of movie lovers in a way that is entertaining and relevant. I liked the script that Sharat had written. I’m happy that I am teaming up with YRF on this one. Anushka and I are pairing up for the first time so I am sure there will be fireworks.”

Helmed by Dum Laga Ke Haisha director, Sharat Katariya, Sui Dhaaga is made under Yash Raj Films and is slated to hit the screens on September 28 ahead of Gandhi Jayanti.
