Comeback after four year is justified for Rani’s acting but not for the journal of the story
After playing a badass role of a cop to stop women trafficking in Mardani, Rani Mukherjee turned her absorption towards another female centric role in Hichki. What comes to your mind, when you hear hichki, obviously hiccups? Hichki is not just restricted to hiccups, but it is way more than that. An irregular Tourette syndrome which is an objection in career of a struggling teacher. Teacher in our lives are a turning point in our chasing dreams of success.
Hichki characterize Rani as Naina Mathur, suffering from the syndrome which resulted in stumbling block for Naina dream of teaching. Though she succeeded to get her desired job, the outcome was outrageous. Naina challenge was to get the best out of the stubborn kids who was dominated in a higher class society. The phase of the story begins here when she has to face the comments by her students regarding her syndrome. The tagline of the story is, “there are no bad students, only bad teachers”. The story revolves around the teacher struggle to make a balance between making a way to get her ill-treated students a status of respect and overcoming her syndrome. Will Naina succeed in reforming the mindset of her lower score students? To know this, you need to watch the whole movie nearby your theaters.
Hichki has been directed by Siddhartha Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra.
Talking about the timing, it’s a two hour film making it an additional plus point. Performance of Rani Mukherjee is as fresh as her 90’s days. It’s hard to believe that amongst the young emerging actresses who fight every single day to get a single chance in any role, Rani stands herself and need no supporting male actor to spice up the movie. Hichki had moments of joy and emotion jelled up together.
The length of stretching some of the scenes create bothersome environment. The scenes were too casual and there was nothing expect Rani’s acting where we can cheer out loud for any of the scenes. A normal story which has been followed like ages in Bollywood. That is the reason climax was too predictable to push the audience mind backwards.
On 23rd March Hichki released after a delay of two months.
