Padmavat got good review and comments but the audience told the movie is Khiljavat
Amid strong nationwide protests by the Karni sena, and recent violent display in many places, finally Sanjay Leena Bhansali’s Padmavat has hit the theatres today.
The most controversial film of 2017, was forced to be released in 2018, due to some alterations in scenes as demanded by the censor board, which included changes like renaming the movie from Padmavati to Padmavat. These alterations were made in respect to the voices raised by a section of community, which objected to glorifying the love story between a Rajpoot Queen and a Muslim King.
Before the due release on 25th January, however, the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor starrer film was put up for media screening, where sections of media including Bollywood biggies and noted Film Critics saw the film.
Here are some reviews from some major film critics who took up to social Media to publish their reviews on the movie
My #Padmavati / #Padmaavat movie review: "#SanjayLeelaBhansali couches regressive, opportunistic messaging in exhausting visual splendour." https://t.co/2lWH1dev0G #DeepikaPadukone #RanveerSingh #ShahidKapoor

Rajeev Masand of News18 says specifically about Ranveer Singh’s acting
“Ranveer Singh breathes life into the character of the barbaric, power Drunk Allauddin, giving us a Villain for the ages”
But as we all know, a success or failure of a movie depends on the box office collection, it will be worth waiting to see how the film is received by the Indian audience, and whether the controversy attached to the film bears any effect to pulling the audience to the theares.
