Rajkummar Rao is a tailor, who sews clothes for the entire village at his father’s behest. However, when he meets a girl with hazel coloured eyes, he willingly accepts her request to tailor a traditional skirt for her. “Itni sundar stree, stree kaisi ho sakti hai,”
In between this mystery is a love story between Vicky and a girl, who he only meets once a year, during an aarti.
As if that was not enough, the second time around she hands him a shopping list that would put a witch to shame. But being as infatuated with the girl as he is, Vicky sets out to get the things she has asked for.
Aparshakti Khurrana, his friend, is absolutely against this but Abhishek Banerjee supports him. All this while Stree makes merry in the village. (theme of the story)
Finally, they make the connection…Mard ko Dard Hoga…(how and when)
Rajkummar Rao proves himself as all-rounder with shines and strays away from his serious roles. He play the ideal mainstream masala-tastic actor and his comic timing is unmatchable.
The small-town galli ka munda who is a self-proclaimed Maharaja has become the basic tool for rural-centric movies and even in Stree, the character of Vicky wins you over.
But somehow Shraddha Kapoor fails to steal your heart and other characters in the film shown their talent more than the actress. More of friends and friendship oriented movie…
In a ‘special appearance’ of sorts, Shraddha does not make most of what could have been a memorable character.
Pankaj, Aparshakti and Abhishek achieve with their laugh out loud performances at their best…
So go for this horror comedy as for sure, you will definitely like this because of comic timing and horror comedy, laughter and humor.
